The number of mid or rear engined kit cars that get 90% done with the remaining 10% being the drive line because the builder puts it in the 'too hard' basket is fairly high..

Wisdom there.

Unless you're doing a superdooper one-off-panel-accurate replica then slap a gearbox in there and get to driving. I'm with Jac; ZF, Porsche - get it in and get it done.

Or unless you're Jac and you're going to cast your own box, but the number of people with those skills around the forum number in single digits, if not just number one.

Im sure there are/is more than just me, just they have not been as crazy & let everyone else know!!:)

On a more serious note, I started out a bit like most others & very nearly plunked down the $$ for a GT40NZ kit years ago, this was back in the very early days & I was fortunate to 'see' the car at a very early Dunedin Street race & I didnt or couldnt see me being happy with it long term, a lot has happened in the 25 odd years since then in the GT40 world & largely due to joining this site I find myself getting more particular about how I want it to be..& in my case there is no 'due date' for it to be done by, unlike some of you guys that seem to build & sell at a frightening rate...
