SLCs take pole and third in NASA 25 hour classic qualifying

Very cool. I watched it for a few hours from the #66 car, and only saw an SLC a couple times passing from it. Then a couple turns later, gone!

It looked like gearbox. They had it apart for about a hour or so during the first couple of hours we were there and then got it going and went back out for a few laps. They were not on track when we left, hour 4, I don't believe. That car IS fast.

The other SLC has been rumored to have spend +$1000000 on the car with a full on Rolex powertrain in it.

I believe the engine and gearbox from the "other SLC" is from an LMP1 car. A proven success in endurance racing. I've posted some additional info and photos on the same engine config in the "Garage Sale" section at http://www.gt40s.com/forum/garage-sale/47555-f-s-alum-ford-6l-lmp1-race-engine.html#post485132

At least the engine is less than $1M :)
