Southern GT Chassis #54 Build - The What Have I Done Chronicles!!

I am using Ford Capri bonnet adjusters where my front clip sits on. Very easy to adjust. Fitted on the front piece of the spider so the front c;lip sits on it.

I was worrying about the gap I have with my sills , 1cm on one side and 5mm on the other side but after seeing your pics I have no worries about that..
Have a GT Forte kit that has its own issues. Wheel arch on left side rear clam sits 1"higher compared to the other side..

When I fitted my Hartwell latches last weekend I found another issue, they pull.
So with my adjusters up front they pull my front clip in shape creating a snug fit with my spider & doors.

At the rear clip they pull my clamp out of shape so I have to make some adjustable supports tomorow.

Looking good Shaun, the Dzus mounts set the center of the front clip to the correct height, that is currently too low but will come up when you fit them.

The spider also needs to be supported between the door-tops at least until the windshield is bonded into place.

Thanks all, Mick thinks as well my spider is too far forward making the roof too low, need to push it back to raise the roof
Randy I like the idea of the support that would help, carpentry time!!

You can see the 2x4 board supporting the spider on my build. The roof was not flat, but was supposed to have a gentle arch to it.

Be careful we may get into what is a good and bad roll bar!!! 4x2 probably not race safe but a great idea for the roof thanks. Mine is I think pretty flat hence Mick spotting it, thing is the front fibreglass lip seems to be as far back against the chassis box section as it can go? I will have a goo look this weekend

Cheers chaps I ask as just picked up a set of viva ones to go in a southern gt .in pretty good condition too .I've seen the mk1 escort are shallower depth wise and was was worried the viva ones to be to deep,as havent got body work next.
Mark when you fitted did they come with the buckets ?
Thanks shaun
