Previously, on another thread on this topic I said:
"We just got back from 'Vegas/SEMA a few hours ago.
'Checked out both the V8 version of the 'Future GT Forty' that SPF had on display beside the booth they'd setup alongside the 'demonstration track' outside the 'Con. Center...and the V6 version that Magna-Flow had at its booth inside the "Center Hall"...at least as much as was possible, anyway. The 'Future' cars somehow look more 'altered' in the renderings (at least the renderings drawn from the left rear quarters) than they do in person. For instance, the 1970 Dodge Challenger-style 'belt line' visible in said renderings isn't there at all in the actual car(s).
'Separately asked to have either car's rear clamshell raised/removed/opened (whatever) so I could see how one-or-the-other (or both) was 'wired/plumbed', so to speak. (IOW, did either car look like the techs had just stood across the shop and thrown everything in...or was everything 'two blocked and squared away' in both cars?) But because of the staff's concerns regarding this or that, 'no could' make it happen...so I have no idea how much attention was paid to 'esthetics'/'detail' during either build.
Regardless, I do know now ('was told by one of the SPF guys on site) that one will have North of $250K USD in a TT V6 car before it hits the road..."esthetics"/"detail" or no "esthetics"/"detail"."
Anyway, two weeks later now, I have to agree with Tom. Since I saw those two cars (and I DO like the looks of them!), I've had time to digest what I saw, and, upon reflection, I too prefer the originals to the new design/upgrade. Why? Simply because TO ME the new car appears to be (and 'KUDOs' to SPF for this) an intentionally cosmetic 'nod' toward the 2018/19 Ford GT and nothing else...no 'deception', no 'pretense' at all to be anything other than what it truly is. In other words - SPF isn't trying to 'fool' anyone into thinking the car is something other than 'cosmetics'. It's just being offered as a 'different' GT40 'choice'.
Which design one might chose - as is always the case - boils down to what appeals more to this-or-that person (just like deciding between a MKI or MKII). Period. QUALITY-wise, etc., etc., my bet is there's no darned diff at all.
