Technical Description of Electrical Failure

I was looking around for alternator information (post in electrics section) and found this on one of those "super blaster stereo fart can muffler having ricer" sites regarding electrical failures related to alternators. I quote:

<font color="red"> My lights dim when I play my system at night. Why is this?
You don't have enough power coming from the alternator to supply everything that is running. Lights seem be the first thing everyone notices, but running low voltage can cause real damage to your vehicle. When you run electronics on low voltage they get hot and that's when they let the smoke out. Once it gets out electronics usually don't work anymore.

Moral of the story? Don't let your smoke out, your electrics won't work anymore. Probably why we saw some Lucas smoke on Ebay a couple of weeks ago.

Ron you seem like the guy that could infact really enjoy this site. It has been one of my favorites for a long time.

The most important rules have to do with the 'Theory of Rice Speed' as identified by this site.

Yellow equals Fast
Stickers equals Fast
Yellow + Stickers equals Very Fast

Seems simple this simple math can really explain a lot.

Enjoy the good laugh...
