Hello,
Just wish to thank everybody that endeavored to help me with different ideas and concepts relating to the GT40. Prior to the GT40 venture, I did not like Ford (Mopar background). There were no real reasons as to why I did not like them, I guess I just hate the fact that (to me at least) every clown argues over "what is better, holden or ford" and all the people I knew that drove either one were just try-hards. So either way, the GT40 got me to actually research ford and what it is and so forth and I got a great appreciation for Ford.
After speaking with Dimi at the All Fords Day, I took a step back and looked at what I actually use my car for and what I would like to feel in a car on a practical level rather than Pie in the sky.
The things I do on a regular basis where I would like to drive my 'nice' car, requires luggage space for musical instruments. Other things I would like to cruise to with my nice car is camping/fishing.
Unfortunately GT40 or any exotic as such has no space at all for any of the things I actually do do. As far as wanting to 'run' the car at a race track, the fact I have not been in 29 years, means, that is clearly a thing that is not regular, and whether I will do it in future or not is another question since I never did it before either.
Also, I will always miss the 'muscle' look with an exotic. That reminds me as to why I sold my first sports car in place of a muscle car many years ago.
So given that, I guess the muscle car is for me. I will be buying the car that I have loved since forever but did not choose to get because it was a 'ford'. That will be a 1967 Mustang Eleanor.
I always liked fast backs, I always liked the more aggressive muscle look and I need the space for the things I enjoy doing so that I can use my car rather than leave it at home because it has no space in it which defeats the purpose to even having the car.
Thanks to GT40, I have grown to like ford, so now looking at a mustang, I feel a joy and pride to own one.
It is also much smaller and more nimble and lighter than my Dodge Charger, so it to should feel more 'race like' than the Dodge which is what I wanted out of exotics (are more firm feel car). True, it wont feel like an exotic, but it will feel good being smaller and it still retains the space for the things I need space for.
So to me that is an honest assessment and decision.
