Tornado Wheel back-space

Hi all,
Can anyone one help me with what the front & rear wheel backspace (inner rim edge to hub mounting face) I should be using on my TS40. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
P><P><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3>The standard wheels from Tornado are no good as I’m using 6-pin GTD Racing hubs, so I plan to get a custom set from Image wheels The hub flange is in the same place as the <

We can supply you with the wheels you need and to the correct offsets to suit the GTD hubs.We have done this before.
Give me a call on 01562 820372.

Thanks

Andy

Thanks Andy, but I’d rather source my own, especially as I have a non-standard brake caliper position, which will dictate as unique hub offset to fit. I’d rather be responsible for my own destiny when they don’t fit! So it you could let me know the dimensions I’d appreciate it.

I would think that you need to specify what width wheel and tire you are planning on. The offset you choose may find you interfering with your upper balljoint/link or steering arm if it is positioned out far enough. Also how much room is available under the bodywork? I can tell you that I have just under 67" under my front clip at the front axle centerline, and yours is probably very similar. I have 10" wide wheels in front, with a 4 7/8" backspace so I have a 1/8" negative offset and my tires just fit under the wheel house.
My dimensions may differ from yours, so carefull measurements are important.
Good Luck
Phil

Hi Phil
thanks for the feedback. I am planning to use 8" wide rims on the front & 10" on the rear. I was aware of the clearance issues and was hoping someone with a Tornado (or even a GTD, as I believe they are the same in this area) will let me know what they are using. Andy Sheldon should I suppose be able to give the definitive answer.
Regards
Andy
