i hope you are at least 6" 2" tall or that the Ford GT you are sitting in has a Gurney Bubble. It looks like a real head rubber! What was Ford thinking? How many manufacturers of Ford GTs can accomodate someone 6 foot tall?

Thanks! Is the car drivable at 4"? No bottoming out? Most of the cars I see here sit way too high. A GT40 just doesn't look right as a 4X4! The lower the better!

Rick Merz drove his car around quite a bit at a sub 4" ride height with little problem.

I too ride around at sub 4", albeit speed bumps usually pose a dilemma. Either I have to find a way around them or make sure I’m ready to give a little gas so as not to “high center”. Happened once, I got stuck and had to climb out to push it off its “perch” /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif


My clearance is partly due to the 25” diameter Hoosier’s. Most tires are closer to 26” diameter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I spent quite a while drooling over Angelo's car (sorry), and he definitely drives it. I didn't see any curb rash or other damage to the chin. Looks great that low although I can't imagine driving it on the 401 (hwy) with big trucks around you. They'd never see you. On the bright side, most would just go right over and not even scratch the roof!

Hi Tom. Sorry you missed the show. It was good but probably not as goog as Detroit. Also Ford did not have the cut in half GT44 there. Too bad, I would loved to have seen that.
I'm under 6' tall. The seat back rest had to be adjusted and the roof of the car has a concave/hollowed out section for your head to fit. You still have to duck to close the doot first. Once in there was a fair amount of head room.

 

The ride height is good for almost all applictions and is supposed to be accurate to the original. Most speed bumps are not a problem. But there are a few that it could get hung up on or scrape the bottom. The other issue of course is weight in the car. A heavy guy like me causes a few more issues than a lighter guy as this does reduce ride height a lttle bit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Here is a picture of the Ford GT that was cut in half and was on display at the Chicago Auto Show last month.
Essentially it is the most complete kit on the market, just weld the driver side to the passenger side and drive.
