Which transaxle comes in the RF kit?

Bill

I'm sure Gordon will correct me if I'm wrong, but me thinks they use the Audi Getrag model 016. There have been several discussions about how much/little HP this
box will hold, and I suspect your mileage
will vary strongly on how you use/abuse it.

There are several of us in the US interested
in this topic since it is by far the cheapest and easiest to find.
A larger issue folks have with the 016 is the poor gear ratio spread. Hopefully someone will address that in the future.

If you are truly looking for a 500 hp box,
you probably should be looking past the 016.
The G50 seems to be the favorite here.
Not too expensive (compared to ZF) and lots
of aftermarket support.

I'm sure RF would help you install a G50 if you asked.

Mike, you correct. I have put 500 hp through these without any problem. The issue becomes high torque engines. In a mid-engined car, torque is not your friend. I much prefer a high hp, high revving, low torque engine like a long rod 306 properly built.
We are currently working on 2 6 speed options for the RF. One will handle any 302 or 351 based engine. The other will handle BB engines. These options will be available soon at very competitive prices.
You have to remmenber that this is not a Cobra. The Cobra is a beast and can be driven as such. The GT-40 is pure finess. If try to drive it like a beast it will jump and bite you before you have time to react. This goes for any mid engineed performance car. Smooth is much faster.
