Mike, you correct. I have put 500 hp through these without any problem. The issue becomes high torque engines. In a mid-engined car, torque is not your friend. I much prefer a high hp, high revving, low torque engine like a long rod 306 properly built.
We are currently working on 2 6 speed options for the RF. One will handle any 302 or 351 based engine. The other will handle BB engines. These options will be available soon at very competitive prices.
You have to remmenber that this is not a Cobra. The Cobra is a beast and can be driven as such. The GT-40 is pure finess. If try to drive it like a beast it will jump and bite you before you have time to react. This goes for any mid engineed performance car. Smooth is much faster.
