Sounds really good Joe! We’ve covered some of the same ground. I’ve had a 69 Vette, built or helped build a half dozen FFRs, I built a blown BB 70 Nova SS pro/street just before my GT40! Your AP GT sounds like it will be a very nice car!!

Is the gt40 specific pulley kit really worth the extra $2800 or can i use a standard after market kit? By no means am I a cheap person but when it dont make sense i have to question it and that just sounds outrageous lol
Thanks

Update pics chris sent me past few weeks. Chris really is a pleasure to deal with in every aspect. Quick response time whether email or phone and he sends me weekly update pics.

Are you sure that’s not $280?
i just used the bottom pulley from the Ford Motorsports V-Belt pulley kit - don’t know the part number right off - it might be on my build page. I was set up to use a remote electric waterpump to get away from any bump in the firewall..

i had to do a dbl take aswell but no its 2750 Lol. Just seems extremely expensive for 3 pulleys and s bracket.

I received my first major part today997 transaxle. Just curious as to why slave cylinder has 2 hose hookups? I already pulled out vent fitting and tapped for drain plug since its being flipped.
Thanks

The one with the cap is probably just the bleeder. Open it slightly to get the air out.
I put cap on it just to keep dust out. Its a pretty big hose barb.after doing some research it turns out its a return line and other is feed. Not sure where it would get hooked up too thought. I guess once i start building it will make sense‍♂️Lol.

Return line? It does look like a the modern O ring fuel fitting GM uses, but hydraulic slave cylinders don't have in and out fittings. They have a single line to the MC and a bleeder on the high side. I have seen brakes that have 2 check valves and an in and out that rotates fluid back to brake lines with a remote Y to let the fluid cool, but with what looks like a plastic slave, I can't see this being needed.

I know it weird, thats whats confusing me as to what it hooks up to.

i found the att on a Porsche forum.

Interesting. I've read about this setup for brakes to bring fresh fluid into the calipers with each brake application to reduce temp in the caliper. Maybe they think this is needed to keep the plastic slave from getting too hot.

You may want to find an aluminum slave and/or an adapter bracket so you can use a regular slave, or something like this.

Or maybe this is close enough to adapt. This is what I used on my Cobra with a DIY bracket.
