Active Power Steering Rack & Tie Rods

Just a question to all you Active Power builders out there (complete or not). I’ve searched the build threads and only found a couple of possible answers but not a complete one.

What steering rack and tie rod ends are you using for your builds (C5/6 front uprights)? (Part #s appreciated if available)

I know Chris recommends Mustang or MG Racks are 9/16 threaded but the Corvette tie rod ends are 14mm x 1.5 so what are you doing to mate them if that’s the answer? Do the Mustang tie rod ends work with the right taper for the C5/6 upright?

Thanks in advance,

Devin

He sent us home with a fabricated radius rod and a stud for the upright to fit a heim. For me, I'll cut the one end off the radius rod and do what I have to to use the factory tie rod end. May have to machine a bung if I can't find metric ones.

That’s what I saw in one pic but didn’t like that way that looked to me either which is why I’m asking.

By adding washers, you can dial out bump steer with that set up, but I'm not a fan. I'll do it the hard way by adjusting the height of the rack if needed.

One of the guys on a Cobra rally had that set up, and it broke. I've never heard of a tie rod end breaking without more than 300K miles or a wheel smacking a curb.
