Quaife Transaxle Lube Change Procedure

Hi all, I have a Quaife transaxle in our new SPF GT40 and I would like to do my own fluid changes when needed. I have access to my friend's 4 post lift and I wonder if some of the more experienced here could post the lube change procedure for a Quaife and as a big plus, a photo of the side fluid level and fill (if different) hole location(s). Thanks in advance for all responses. Dave

I tried searching this site for similar questions concerning Quaife units (I was primarily interested in a photo of the "fill" and side "full" fluid ports) but I didn't find one, just for ZF units. With all the very experienced folks on this site I was a bit disappointed with no replies, but I wanted to express my thanks anyway...

I have not yet fitted my ZFQ but for all gearboxes in the past i always worked on the principal of the drain plug in on the underside and the fill plug on the side. Then you fill till fluid just starts to come out the side fill plug hole. Haven't looked to see if the ZFQ has this set up though.

I looked on the Quaife website. They have zero technical information on the 62G. I guess you have to call them Dave. I also read on the Quaife Facebook site the box uses 4 liters.

I contacted Quaife. This is their response

Hello, Randy,

Thank you very much for your enquiry;

The QBE62G should take 4 litres of 75W90 GL4 gear oil.
The orange cap on top of the gearbox is not the filler, this is the oil breather cap.

The oil filler is the top blue plug on the side of the maincase; the oil level is the bottom blue plug.
I have attached a drawing that shows these blue plugs.

No break in period is required, as this gearbox is dyno tested before despatch.

If you have any questions or if I can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

I'm glad you cared enough to ask. I literally was just going to put in the type and amount of oil the tag stated and keep living my life. Lol
