    J10

In all probability Porsche would have turbo charged the motors as they did for CanAm... Ford and Chevy big block motors were no match. But Ford had made its point and the emissions regulations and safety requirements demanded all of its engineering focus and financial resources.

Comment by 'ERA' in media 'ERA 1075 #2038'

I trust you are enjoying the car! Keeping the edges of the mag wheels polished was a constant job. So, on my current ERAGT 2077, I had the entire wheel painted. Jim

    J9, formerly J7A

J10, the second car acquired from Ford by the Agapou Brothers along with J9, was the chassis that was actually raced in the CanAm series, driven by a number of drivers including Revson, Elford, Cannon amongst others (and without much success). Of all of the J Car chassis in their various...

Road and Track on the GT40

"I read R&T religiously--in the supermarket. I pick it up, read Peter Egan's column, then put it back and go get milk and bread." WIth Rob Walker, Innes Ireland, Paul Frere and, Phil Hill long gone, Peter Egan "retiring" and Sam Posey rarely heard from, I gave up my 35+ subscription two years...

    Honker II

The original Honker tub was made in England and, according to Kenny, utilizes different guage aluminium than what is/was used here. ...and over in the corner was Ken's "J" car recreation. He fired it up and due to the different (non 180 degree) exhaust, sounded more like a Cobra than a GT40...

    Honker II

Made a trek down to North Carolina to Kenny Thompson's shop. One of the projects that he is working on is a duplicate of the chassis of the Honker II, the Paul Newman sponsored, Mario Andretti driven CanAm car.... one of the prettiest race cars of the era. Jim

A Depressing Message from Mark Hales

"Never drive someone else's car unless it's a rental, a dealer demo, OR sudden/oddball/emergency circumstances absolutely demand it." and, likewise I would add; Never allow anyone else to drive your car unless a sudden/oddball/emergency circumstance absolutely demands it, etc. Jim

    Jim's ERA build

As to future ERAGTs, the reality is that with respect to the available ERAGTs, "in the pipeline", all are spoken for. Each is virtually custom-hand built for a customer and as a result can literally take years to complete. A new run of chassis would require firm deposits (commitments) from ten...

ERA Stops GT40 Replica Production - No New Orders Taken

Actually, my friend Jose "drives" his ERAGT via a play station from the comfort of his barcalounger in his air-conditioned living room in PR, large Italian Sausage Grinder close at hand (and bathroom only steps away). I've been dealing with the good folks up at ERA for several decades now and...
