907/8 First serious outing

Hello mates
Some years after the completion of the project the car had last week end a first seriuos "outing" ; I had the big opportunity to be guess from organiser at a very very well known anf famous track named "Circuit de charade " where there was a sort of comemoration of Historic fame ( as F1 and long distance races have been raced during several year on the 70/80's )
The team of the 2019 and 2020 French rallyecross Champion was kind to follow and use the car ; unfortunatly weather was not so excellent and Xavier was not able to perform quick laps due to a very wet track
The 907/8 worked perfectly and we learned some detail to improve so next year she will be ready for more fun
Due to the actual sanitary situation we all where wearing masks and all spectator where also very carefull with masks everywhere and social distance ( many thanks to them

Hi Michel

Is that the same circuit sometimes called Clermont Ferrand?

Thanks,

Eddy

Thanks Udo for the kind word ; I think you will have soon a nice car too to play with ......
Unfortunaly with the sanitary situation taking place in february ; I decided not to start the new M6 project

Yes Eddy it is that one on middle of central montains in France
Absolutly nice circuit where I have been racing so many times with many different cars ( Lola and aGT2 named VBM)

When I visited Charade some 35 years ago the circuit was crossed by public roads and you could simply turn onto the track and set off for a lap or two - is that still the case?

In that case....I have driven it in 1965! Well....a virtual copy of the circuit as part of a Grand Prix legends sim racing "1965 season" track pack.

There are a couple of YouTube videos of Charade in 1958 / 59. Innes Ireland won in a Lotus 1100.

Colin ; Long time ago the circuit was effectivly longer with roads open only for the race day
Now the historic circuit is much more shorter and completly closed and usable evry day ( there is racing school established there)

Eddy hope you enjoyed the virtual circuit !!!! I was there driving for the french champion ship with my 2 seater Lola T296 with 2000cc ford cosworth
Great memory of this so specific circuit
