Hello:
I write this post only to tell you my experience with my 944 Turbo 016 AOR gearbox crygenic treatment in my first endurance race (4 hours) of this year (last weekend). I followed your advice and send my ring and pinion to cryo treat (to metal wear in Illinois, although I live in Spain)and shot penning last month Feb 2008. The only problem I had was two small pieces broken in one tooth in the ring and another in the shaft of the 3rd gear (I don´t know if it is normal in the shot penning). My reason to do this treatment was that I wanted to swap my R and P stock 8:27 with a 944 S2 R and P 8:31 ratio to get less maximun speed for the track. The result was very good at least at the moment. I have now 250 Km\h in 5 th gear at 6700 rpm and it looks like that this 8:31 ring and pinion works fine and hold the torque and the power (45 Kgm and 315 CV during 4 hours).
Thank you very much again to Pete, Jim, Ryan, Jack, Ron and other guys that had the kindly in answer my questions
