Adjustable Brake / Clutch Mounting

Has anyone built a successful method of moving a floor mounted pedal assembly back and forward. I am trying to situate my pedal assy in a position that I can reach in comfort and also my wife can reach. The amount of movement in the cockpit of a GT40 does not allow for much seat back/ forward movement and I think I need to allow to bring the pedal closer so she can reach.

Thanks in anticipation

I was going to have a look at the electric seat adjustment rails out of our Subaru Legacy and see if they could be adapted to the pedal box assy for this purpose since I/we willl have the same problem, In fact the real problem will be keeping Donna out of the damn thing, probably a good reason not to finish it! Steering column is fairly simple with collapsible two piece shaft & clamp assy.

The other option I thought of was the adjustable seat rack out of the bottom of something like a falcon seat. I am not too woried about having it easily adjustable but thought it would be an excellent idea if I needed a sober driver etc etc

I would prefer to have something that was on a reasonable size thread rather than the notched rail of a manual seat adjustment. A bump or clout from another car at the wrong time could cause the mechanism to disengage, not a good thing if you want the pedals to be of any use at the time. Had that happen to the seat when flying a Cherokee into Wellington ( on what could be considered an average Wellington day ) , not a nice feeling to suddenly be about 10" further back from yoke & rudder pedals.:)

I saw this unit being sold at a UK race car show earlier this year, which is based on a pair of seat runners and I though was very neat solution.

Andy
