Alex's RCR GT40 MK1 build

That sounds like a good idea. I received fuel pumps from Facet today. 2 pcs Dura-lift 40290. Need pressure regulator and various couplings and fuel pipes.
I see that your RCR is right-hand drive. I also chose the steering wheel on the right side. Are you going to extend the sides down on the dash board? I'm thinking of doing this.

Another update, still waiting on the same parts as before. Currently I have sent two separate emails, around a month or so apart, no replies from RCR. No updates from them, no clue when to expect the transaxle or headers now.
Multiple people have received their cars with headers now which is also very frustrating since I feel like I got left out. Last update was 10 weeks to get headers and no timeline on the transaxle. I should expect headers in the next two weeks since the update was 8 weeks ago.

Order was placed in the beginning of December of 2023. It has been over 28 months since I paid for the transaxle and they have no idea when I will get it. Anyone have advice on what to do next?

Hi: I would complete the car - transaxle and headers can be installed as one of the last items. Anyway, best wishes for your project!

Parking brake is installed and functional. Ran into a couple issues with this but for the most part it went well. Also got all the brake lines installed. All I have to do is install the pedals and the fluid reservoirs and I can have working brakes, but likely I'll be saving that for later on.

Another issue it looks like I'm running into is the steering rack holes don't line up too well. Rack is not centered front and back so I'll have to figure that out eventually. It was also not centered up and down. I was able to fix this by machining down the spacers by .100" which seems to be a lot better. Here is a before and after picture of it

Be very careful in changing the height of the rack as it will change the bump steer profile.
It’s not hard to check bump steer and there’s a lot of info on this site on how to do it.

.100" won't change it too much. I can live with a little bit of bump steer that would come from that amount of change. The bigger issue is the tie rod lock nut is hitting the hole it goes through. I can put a spacer on the top of the steering knuckles to fix the bump steer if it is an issue though

I had a buddy of mine that runs a mobile welding business help me make some stainless steel coolant tubes. These actually came out pretty nice and definitely look nicer than a bunch of hoses. Plus there's less risk of a coolant line failing. I put a bead on all the ends to hold the hose clamps as well.

The plan from here will be to drill a hole in them and weld on a barbed fitting to add a small coolant pump to run the heater lines off of these. I'm thinking about running the inlet and outlet for the pump on the inlet side of the radiator so the coolant from the heater goes through the radiator before going into the engine again. I can't really see it being that important though so I might just run it back to the outlet side of the radiator.
