Father and son RCR GT40 Mk ll Build

Yea I tried to keep it as simple as possible and try and get the complete package from RCR.I included in my package a G96/01 transaxle with the ford clutch pack which included the flywheel and starter.Small block 302 should be plenty of power with a couple up grades, gonna keep it simple and go with a mechanical fuel pump and carb, something I can actually work on easy .I have been in contact with shelby engines but they sure do want alot for a all aluminum small block!!!

With regards to an Aluminum block, shaving off 80# on a 2,500# car (3%) for $3,000 is probably not the best use of resources unless you are planning to race for money, or just have to have it for having’s it’s sake (as is the case for my ‘needing’ a Borla 8-Stack).

As for the mechanical fuel pump, I suggest vetting that on this forum and with your engine supplier before making any commitments. I don’t know much, but I suspect there are HP vs consumption limits and the 24” vertical lift to consider.

Yea I have a long list of stuff to research with these new crate engines,I remember running my 427 camaro in high school with a mechanical pump but I guess times have changed and not so simple anymore:(

I got my engine from Prestige. It's a 533 HP 302W/363. The mechanical fuel pump opening is blocked off. When I asked I was told a mechanical pump could not keep up (can't wait to see wait kind of MPG I get).

I should have asked for the following:
  • Compact distributor
  • Aivide GT40 oil pan with the starter notch
  • Flat top valve covers
