Antonov 225

The Antonov 225 landed at the Charlotte Douglas airport two days ago. We went to see it last night took Andie our seven year old. I can't beleive that thing flies it is huge.

Those are awesome planes. My company used an earlier version to air lift an entire drilling rig to West Africa years ago. Our drilling rights were due to to expire, and we only had 60 days to mobilise a rig & start drilling. With the help of that Antonov we came in with a week or two to spare.

Mike Drew one of our active forum members flys the C5 Galaxy, he has some wild stories about the Russian Antonov 225 and the crew. Mike Trusty and I got a tour of the C5 and it was amazing that something that big could fly with all that weight on board.
