In the latest Motor mag out here are a few bits I have not read elsewhere. I am only repeating so don't shoot the messenger. The code name for the new GT was Project Petunia. The Motor guys drove a mule at Ford's Romeo Proving Ground, an hour out of Detroit. Was running a 4.6 Mustang Cobra Motor (290kw) They say production will start at Ford's Wixom plant, around 1500 per year at a price of a bit under $150000. Powered by a 5.4 litre 32valve V8 based on the SVT Lightning truck motor with an alloy block and heads, dry sump, screw type supercharger blowing at 11 psi. (373kw) Gearbox is a 6 speed Ricardo, and brakes will be Brembo calipers on 355m at front and 335m at rear Quite a few of the steering and suspension bits will shared with the new 'baby' Aston Martin the AMV8. The body panels will be aluminium made by a new technology that heats the metal to near melting and squeezed into a mold with high pressure air.The mule was running Goodyear Eagle F1's 235/45ZR18's in front and 315/45ZR19's on rear.
