My new 'lighter physique' - did'nt help me too much this year, as we had problems with the gearchange / selection. Hopefully we'll have it sorted for Longleat Hill Climb this coming weekend...
Rodger Burston managed to grab the Dave Wilson Memorial again, for fastest time of a GTD40, with a final run of 11.99s - matching his previous best of last year.... consistent!!
Dave P had a few problems with the new progressive NOS controller, like it would'nt work! - seems the trigger input has failed before he managed to use it in anger. SO - I hastily rigged a simple on/off solution again and it dumped 150BHP in when pedal hits the bulkhead. Needless to say, once again his slicks broke traction in 2nd - 3rd and 4th! each time he got the pedal fully down - made for an interesting ride, if not the quickest, although he did manage 129mph which was only 2 or 3 mph slower that the GT-ART Skyline with 4wd and 1000+ BHP!
A new progressive controller is being sorted and an up in jets to add 250BHP is on the cards.... His 383ci currently producing about 500BHP without the gas tested the 6-speed straight cut transaxle from GTO Engineering fairly hard - and it proved very slick and up to the task!!rockonsmile
So there it is for another year - we'll be back again, but who will have the biggest motor??
Oh, and despite my poor times, I did achieve the fastest 64ft time of the GTDs by at least a couple of 10ths, a 2.06s which at Brighton ain't too bad at all!
