Caliper Identification

Gentlemen,
I am trying to identify the front claipers of my GTD40. A couple of pics are attached.
I have asked a couple of guys in the know, and they say they aren't standard Ford Granada ones. I have attempted to query Girling parts lists for the numbers stamped on them, but without luck.
Obviously I need to identify the brakes should I need to refurbish seals or replace brake pads.
Can anyone help?

And here is another more general view of the front suspension showing the caliper on the disc.

My car was made in South Africa, so everything is a foreign part for me here in the US. For the brake pads, I measured the backing plate and then took one to the parts store. I just asked the guy to let me look through a book with pictures and dimensions of all the various pads and eventually matched it up. Check the other side of the caliper and see if there is a manufacturer like Ate. I'm just guessing but, it looks like it could have some mercedes applications.

your calipers look like a mk 11 ford granada avaliable in the uk until about 1985/86 would you be able to fax a picture of the brake pads and caliper seal diameter and i can find out at work if they are then pads and seal kits as well as re con calipers are all still avaliable

There was a reasonably straightforward and good value upgrade for Granada brakes, including cross drilled and vented discs and Wilwood 4-pot calipers. These were available from the sole importers, Rally & Marine Design in Faversham, Kent on 01795 531871. I think they're still around. If you're thinking of upgrading, it may be worth looking at the whole package, instead of just the calipers. Good luck.

Thank you all for your constructive and useful comments.
I shall toddle down to my local friendly Ford dealer with a spare pad and innocently ask if I can 'have a set of these' and see what transpires!
I don't intend to upgrade brakes just yet, but when I do I'll know where to go.
