Carpet - What type and how much?

I will soon (hopefully) be getting to the stage in my build where I need to consider putting carpet in....

Question to everyone. What type do people recommend, and if cutting the carpet yourself, how much do people buy?

Hi Brett,

I have used carpet intended for Water ski boats, hard wearing and water proof ish, also much cheapness !!

I used some carpet from a manufacturer in Middlesex
It does the job and did not seem to worry about getting damp a few times

I'll dig up the name on the invoice this evening From memory about £70 did the whole car including adhesive (But don't quote me on this as it was 5 years ago)

The loop carpeting is hard to keep clean because, well, the loops catch every pine needle or bit of grub coming off your shoes. The cut pile looks and feels better too, though, it's a bit "rich" looking in a GT40 unless it's cut short. Cut pile is usually quite a bit more expensive than loop because it's more work to make, but if you want ease of cleaning then go with the cut pile, ideally a dense pile but cut short. Just my $.02.
