Couple of SW 240A Questions

I have a pair of the Stewart Warner 240A pumps for my project and have a couple of quick questions. How were they grounded on the original GT40s that used them, from examining various photos I can't seem to see? Is it a wire or a ground strap, and where on the pumps were they attached?

In several photos by David Friedman at SAI, I noted some cars had the pumps mounted on the right, while others on the left although this may be only on the early Bendix pumps? Were the SW's always on the left and what would you recommend? (my car is right hand drive)

Thanks,

Francis

As I recal, there was typically a braided ground strap extending from one of the screws at the very top of the pump.

As for mounting, I think you can take your pick. I've seen both, too. If you are replicating a particular car (Gulf for example), your choice would be easier. But again, I've seen SWs mounted on either side.

This might be a little help:
