Daytona Coupe question

Sorry, I know its not a gt40 but its still a Superformance. Does anyone know why the side pipes on some Daytonas are not functional (exhaust goes out the back) Heat issues on fibreglass? Has anyone changed it to working side pipes?

Also, has Superformance changed rear window to glass? Plexi ones seem to crack a

Most all of the early SPF Coupes with plexi rear glass have been changed to real glass. The side pipes can be active or feed to the rear mount exhaust. The non-active side pipe thing was to reduce noise/droning, etc. to make the cars more user friendly on a long drive.
