event calender

I would like to submit there are enough of us out there that would like to get together at racing events, GT40 related or otherwise. Since this coutry is so large, local or regional things would be a easy to attend. In that interest, I propose an events calender that people could check to see what is comming up and could plan in advance to attend, or see who is going to be there. It would probably require a new heading like "EVENTS CALENDER" or the like. It could be any form of racing or show event as long as it is limited to or related to cars. It would have to be in some kind of logical time line or calender order. I don't know how it would be set up, but I would think that a post would automaticly go to that months box or section that it belongs to(and calender order), so that it isn't a hodge podge of postings, and you could check a certain months listings in one area. I don't know how that would work as I am no computer expert. So I would leave it up to the powers that be to figure out. Just my thoughts. I plan on having mine finished by spring of next year if "life" will leave me alone long enough. I have to submit fairly early to get vacation time as we have a small staff in our deapartment and summer time planning has to be well in advance.
What are the thoughts out there and would it be toooo much trouble to institute??

Next time you make a new post scroll down and look at your options - one is add to event calendar. Not great, but it works. Calendar is visible on the entrance page.

Sorry about that, but I never go to the entrance. My browser is set to go to the "Main Index, last 24hr." so I didn't know it was there. Is there a way to find out about future dates, say a month or two ahead?
I tried to click on several of the linked dates and all I get is the following:
