F1 Paddle Shifting GT40

Is this possible or would the tranny be too large? (I realize this is not true to the GT40 form and character) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Are there any aftermarket manufactures who have this available?

I've seen this done on an ERA replica about two years ago.
I don't recall the owner's name, but it was a red ERA with a personalized Missourri tag on it that read "WRKD4IT"

I saw the car in the paddock at Heartland Park during an SCCA weekend. I believe the owner races a formula atlantic car.
Anyways, I took a peek inside of it & noticed "no shifter".
Then I saw that it had a momo steering wheel with two paddles on it. I spoke to one of his crew members who told me that it had about a $25,000 transaxle in the car. I never did meet the owner, since I was busy with my own racecar that weekend.

I am currently running a Quaife 6 speed sequential dog box and I am investigating the possibility of converting it to a button or paddle shift system. There are several manufactures who make these, but the one I am looking at is made by Translogic.

The PS2 powershift. It will only work with fully sequential gearboxes.

About 18 months ago when I was last in Miami I saw an ad in a magazine called Performance Mustangs or something to that effect. Whoever it was advertising said they had sequential shifters for manual boxes using pneumatic sylinders to do the fore/aft and sideways movements. This would, I suppose, need a small electric compressor of some sort. I kept the mag but as I have since divorced and moved twice I will probably not find it until 2012 or sometime after one of you guys have found the manufacturer. Things seem to crop up pretty fast here on this site.
