First post

I have a dream of owning a GT40 some day. I just found this forum this evening. I really do not know how all this works hopefully I get it right.
Thanks, Keith

Keith, welcome and Happy Christmas! With most of us it started as just a dream, for some it has become a reality, keep dreaming and saving and you will get there. There is a wealth of information here for whatever you choose in the end, from preowned to scratch build, all of the GT40 problems have been solved before, just ask and someone will be willing to find the answer for you.

Welcome Keith. +1 as to what Chris said....all of us dream and dreams can come true with desire and overcoming the challenges. Good Luck.

Welcome to GT40's Keith...

There will be other GT40 replicas for sale here from time to time. One thing that many don't think about is just how small these cars really are and how much lower you are to the ground than all the traffic around you. This turns out to be unnerving to some and they simply can't come to grips with it so they sell off the car.
I know of a couple of cases where people could not get comfortable with a right hand drive car here in the USA so they sell.. Which opens up a discussion that could be a can or worms re: RHD or LHD. Myself, I would prefer a RHD for authenticity sake, but realize my own limitations in that this makes a car with relatively poor rearward visibility even worse when you couple with the fact that we drive on the wrong side of the road for that configuration.

Well that said - enjoy your time here on the forums and let us know should you have any questions!

Welcome Keith

I worked in St Louis at the Ford plant for seven months in 2001. I hate big cities, well I though I hated big city till I lived in St Louis. Love the place.

Welcome to the world of GT 40s

Keep looking and another one will come up for sale, probable on this forum.
