first post

Hello everyone,

I have been to this forum many times, and decided it was time to create an account. I very much enjoy reading and spending time on this website. I do not own a GT40, nor do I think I will for many many years (maybe someday though, that is my dream). Unable to purchase a entire vehicle, I have created an interest in original parts.

I am not sure if it is appropriate to post this in the wanted section, but I have looked for sometime and have not came up with what I am looking for in particular. I was wondering if finding a single or pair of original gt40 seats (in any condition) is possible? I realize anything is possible for the right amount of money, but for example, someone that may have restored a gt40 and replaced the wornout seats, has anyone seen the wornout seats available for sale?
This might be a real newbie question, but an original seat or pair of seats is something I have wanted for sometime now.

Hi Randy,

Thank you for your post! I will be posting in the wanted section, I just wasn't sure it was appropriate to post right off of the bat in the wanted section.

I looked through your website of your build and your blog, I really enjoyed them both.

Out of curiosity, I see that your near Minneapolis, do you ever make it over to Road America in Elk Hart Lake here in Wisconsin?

Hi Jonathan,

Feel free to post your wanted ad. Thanks for thinking of posting here first though - totally appropriate protocol! :)

As to Road America - heavens yes, I have raced there myself many times and it is my favorite track in the midwest!

Thank you for the kudos on my build site. Woefully out of date, I intend on rectifying that quite soon! The blog itself has come to an end as it was chronicalling the early days of a brutal 2.5 year struggle with the renovation of our almost 100 year old home. That renovation was finished in early December and the house was put on the market and sold. We close on it next week. Meanwhile we have moved to our new place a bit more than an hour south of the Twin Cities out in the country.

Look forward to meeting you someday when we next make it to the track!
