That kind of fuel filter burned up my Porsche 911. The gasket around the top blew out, spraying fuel on the hot engine and "poof" it was aflame! In a rear or mid-engine car, you are the last one to know you're on fire.

Be very careful, make sure the screws are tight.

We would need to see a photo of the writing on top of the filter to determine what vintage/casting it is.
