Fran - Thanks for the hospitality!

I had the pleasure of making another visit to RCR yesterday. It's coming up on 4 years since SLC-007 was delivered and even longer than that since I last visited the shop. Just wanted to say thank you to Fran, Vicki, Mike, and all the guys in the shop for the hospitality and time they were able to spend with me. Hopefully, I didn't get in the way too much while I was taking all of the pictures! I'll post the pictures in the near future.

Needless to say there's a LOT going on at RCR - wow! The new Superlite offering is going to be impressive. Mike is doing an amazing job with the foam work on the body. From what Fran described this car will bring the "component car" to an entirely new level and for a reasonable price - sorry, no pictures.

It was fun to see the development that has taken place with the SLC - nothing earth shattering but changes that make the car even better than it was originally...and easier to manufacture/assemble.

If you ever visit RCR ask Fran about the Slot Car tracks. Fran - I should have taken notes on the name of the place but I was a bit overwhelmed. If you love slot cars and LARGE realistic tracks that reflect the real tracks the buyer wants to replicate then you'll love this place. A bit out of my price range but very cool to see.

The phone was ringing off the hook and e-mails were flying after the Gearz show. I probably couldn't have picked a worst day for my visit but Fran took it in stride.

Thanks again Fran for everything. I really enjoyed the visit - - and I love the hat!

Justin -

If you haven't figured it out by now Fran ALWAYS has something waiting in the wings! I only had a teaser visit with the D Type but if all goes well this may be MY next RCR.....or will it be the new Superlite offering - Fran was right - I need to win the Lotto! I was telling Fran that I'm associated with a group of foreign car clubs - the largest of which is the Jag club. Many of the guys will go absolutely crazy for this car.

Fran has taken a D-Type replica fiberglass body from the UK that he had "laying around" (not sure, but he may have a few other gems...."laying around") and is in the process of re-working it to be a more accurate replica of the original - Jag in-line 6 engine and all. Best of all it'll be street legal. I can't wait! From what I recall Fran describing it'll have an aluminum center chassis section and a Jag independent rear end - very cool.

I'll admit, the focus of this visit for me was the SLC. As promised here are all of the pictures I took - sorry, but I'm not a photographer and these are taken from the perspective of as person who has yet to truely start "the build". I'm hoping the labels I associated with each picture show up....

I forgot to mention - Fran started up the red SLC a couple of times - side exit exhaust. Started right up and sounded AWESOME. I'm sure I've forgotten to mention many of the things that Fran showed me - hopefully I've hit some of the highlights.

The Jag would definitely be in the RCR line, considering it's a replica and not an original. I was just thinking, Fran has a bunch of new cars coming in the next couple years.

Jaguar D Type
Maserati 350S? (still haven't told us...)
Superlite Touring Coupe
Superlite Le Mans (for sale as of Jan 1, 2012)
Cadillac LMP

So Fran, will the Jag/Masi chassis use a dedion suspension system (like the original)? Multi link live axle? Independent?

The D type uses a monocoque tub , with square tube front chassis and a solid rear axle per original and is disc brake on all four corners...

The Mas. is not finalise yet..

The Le Mans has already started selling...website updates soon.

The Caddy is just a few ticks away...

Lots to do and to stay busy with ....a rolling stone gathers no moss

Dave: Thanks a million for the photos of my car!

The doors look orange in your photos, but it's actually the new chameleon gel coat, which appears to be different colors from different angles.

Justin...its the plug from which the tools /moulds will be made.

I decided to make some changes to make the shape more original and it looks glorious in the flesh...Steve and Andy have been doing a great job on the rework and Brad will be making a start on the moulds this week...

Ben..I am glad you like the Calico look....

Ryeno.....it means we are using a 4g63..as does my Razor, which also uses an LNF/lnj and a Honda K series..
