What keeps the pedals from sliding forward- just the tight wing nuts?I didn’t order the adjustable petals. Big oversight on my part. RCR didn’t have any but I found a similar part on a Volkswagen bug racing site for 1/2 the price. Needed a different top plate tho. View attachment 137097View attachment 137098View attachment 137099
Looks like the big silver knob would latch into one of the 7 holes in the base plate, locking in position on the front/back adjustment. What keeps the pedals from sliding forward- just the tight wing nuts?
Looking good. Who did your rear glass? I still need to have a safety glass made up.I went down the rabbit hole with doubling the firewall sound and heat protection sandwich as detailed in Tom’s trackracer. It took him, a master, 14 hours. I have what seems like a lifetime into this and it’s not done.
First I cut a mirror image out in sheet aluminum. Then glued some aluminum stock using JB Weld. Primed and coated with lizard skin sound and heat. Then a layer of dynomat extreme and dynaliner. View attachment 137087View attachment 137088View attachment 137089

Steve, it looks like you are going with an electric water pump. Where did you get the water pump input cover? Cheers, RandyHere is my quarterly update. It’s not because I haven’t been putting in the time. My build has actually become obsessive. I’ll start where I left off. View attachment 137045View attachment 137044
I used the alternator and bracket from CVF. It needed tons of modification. View attachment 137048
The teeth of the fan needed to be ground down and the helm joints and rod shortened. View attachment 137050
The air conditioning compressor bracket from RCR would not work at all for me. View attachment 137052View attachment 137053View attachment 137054
Steve, thx much for the info. I currently have a Ford Explorer water pump with the impeller removed, but if that doesn’t work, I want a backup plan.I went with the Davies Craig pump and the cover. The pump is from summit but I think I ordered the cover from them directly.

Steve, another request. Can you share your plans for the firewall wings? Just yesterday I pulled out some cardboard to make templates. BTW, the anodized suspension parts look great. Cheers, RandyI have had some fun with anodizing. My parts came back horrible orange brown gold. View attachment 139129
So they went back and I love how they look now. View attachment 139130View attachment 139131
And I’ll offer a small piece of advice. The 4 bolts at the bottom of the U at the back of the chassis go in before the engine. That was my 4th time taking the engine out. Very disheartening for just those stupid bolts.
