The teachers & students are all wimps these days - we had a maths teacher who wore hearing aids & we would start the class off all talking normally, then gradually lowering our voices during the lessons. The teacher would wind up his hearing aids, & all would be good - until - the end of class bell went off !
Spectacular reaction ! We got away with it a few times until he figured it out - then we all got 6 of the best on the backside.
At a get-together, long after leaving school, that teacher told us that it was one of the best pranks he had experienced, & that it had got a lot of laughs in the teachers' common room. We responded that (apart from the sore backsides), it was one the best pranks that we had pulled at school (with the possible exception of nitrogen tri-iodide under teachers' seats). We all had a great laugh about it, & concluded that nobody was "emotionally damaged" - it was just good fun !
People are just way too "Precious" these days !!
