Gents .been to see a load of spares and guy has a un1 gbox .obviously needs strip down etc .part no on the boxes casting 7700599238.said it come off a v6 espace.did a bit of a search but can't find an espace with this box.any info would be gratefully received

Is it suitable for gt40 application.

Renault boxes usually have round metal tag on one of the casing end studs which have the type of UN1 stamped on it. Check against the chart for the box type, source car. Gear and final drive ratio.

Renault Espace V6(old model) had depending country the version UN1-04 or UN01-08

the 04 version has shorter ratio (3.89)than 08 (3.77)box so a little les top speed but better acceleration.... it's a game of finding .... the best compromise option for you in terms of gear ratios and what yourself want or hope..

Try to get hold of workshop manual MR 299 PART 2 (I dont have anymore...) this covers the Espace II gearboxes , for all motorisations....

Was told this is the strongest one from Renault gearboxes.
