GT40 45th reunion at Road America

Anyone catch that awesome white Prius racing around the track during the Saturday "Tour"? Then there was that jerk in the Scion that passed me on the inside on the curve at the Kink, of all places.

I missed them both; the Tour was pretty slow at times but most folks around me were appropriate; did not pass in the corners and gave plenty of room.

I was there on Saturday. Johan, stopped by your pit area and asked for you but they said you were by the other two cars (30 ft away)... if I had known what you looked like I would have walked over. Seems to be the plight of meeting on a message board.

Ha, I know what you mean. The drivers usually have helmets on so one never knows .

Dennis Olthoff did great in his race. Fun to watch.

Scott, I see the 9-11th of September is the VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival.

I was thinking the Kohler International Challenge with Brian Redman (Vintage) which is July 14th to 17th. Johan, was that the race you were planning?

The KIC is in July and I try to make it every year. A long haul but worth it.

I am planning on driving back east and attending the KIC in July and then the EAA Fly-In two weeks later - retirement at its best.

Retirement also meant playing more golf - which caused an old wrist issue to surface - which in turn meant some surgery - scheduled for the 18th godammit.

Unfortunately we took a big hit in in Monday morning's storm. I lost numerous 100 year old trees, one nearly taking out my car barn. I've spent the entire week wielding a chainsaw and managing emergency generators. (Our power was out from 8:00 am Monday until just a few minutes ago.) Insurance adjusters come tomorrow, so it looks like I'll miss the Historics this year. You guys have a good time.

Just got back, it was a great event as always. Wandering around the pits and watching races, great way to spend a Saturday.

Attached are some of the pictures I took.

Johan, looked for your pits, thought I saw them once but couldn't find them again. Maybe next year.
