Hello from ALabama

I have been a member of this forum for three years. My love for Shelby and GT 40s go back to my high school years in the mid 60's.

Ten years ago I build a Cobra replica which I still have.

Last week I made a deal to buy an RCR GT 40 from Allan. We should complete the paperwork next week and set a shipping date for the first of Jan.

I would like to Thank Allan for building the car. It's everything I wanted in a GT 40. I want to Thank Fran for all his help.

A few more questions, Can you drive in the rain and not get wet? Where can I put luggage for road trips?

See ya on the road.

Dwight

DRB's I've seen can drive in the rain and not get wet in the cockpit. I believe most 40's can be sealed up if you patiently spend the time on joints, gaskets, penetrations through bulkheads, etc. The luggage is a difficulty which has threads on this Forum (as does the weatherproofing). Some cars take a little luggage under the front clip, sealed in plastic, you can fit insulated luggage "bins" beside the transaxle, you can place some in the doors, the passenger footwell, or under your knees. Otherwise you are towing a trailer (as Herschel did) or sending it separately by freight line or accompanying friends.

Dwight,

welcome to the team...I am sure you will have many years of pleasure from the car...make sure to post many pictures of you and your big smile...

Say Hello to Keith for me too....
