Help with Spider slit intake

Hello out there,
I’m trying to figure out the function of these intake slits in the spider sides on some MkII’s . Any photos from these intakes, where they lead to?

It was used to get some airflow to the fuel pumps to help them cool.

Or so we were informed in the Enthusiasts club a couple of years back

Excellent, looks like I’ll have one more alteration to do on the spider now. Cooling my SW 240A

Perhaps one day I’ll manage to get a steel spider. I would love that.

Search the web for "gt40 xgt" pics, you'll find plenty of stuff....

...... there is a sheet metall with holes between the bulkhead and the pumps....

I'm no expert on this, was just curious if I could find pics.....
