Hi there,
Just joined because of the wealth of knowledge I've seen on here for adapting midship transaxles to large displacement longitudinal engines. I don't have a GT40 replica (yet), but I've always loved it's shape and style, especially under the covers.
I do have a couple mid-engined cars at the moment, both begging to be messed with. One is an 88 Fiero Formula which I bought years ago as a future kit car base, and the other is a 2007 Exige S.
My current goal is to source a MB M120 V12 (non turbo) and mate that to a non-exotic 6 spd transaxle for mid-engine use. I'm considering the Boxster S transmission, but I see there are problems with 2nd synchro and a short stock 6th gear. I'd like to get this running on a stand and measured out, and then choose which car to slice and dice and drop it in. Most likely the Exige if it pans out.
