Holley Dominator EFI or GMPP LS ECU

Does anybody have any experience between using a dominator EFI ECU and a GMPP LS crate engine ECU.

I used the GMPP one in my SLC and it worked well (the out of the box tune sucked, but beyond that everything ran nicely ... once I un-reversed the O2 sensors, ehehe)

I'm thinking about my 917's engine (LS3 427 stroker) and debating between using the GMPP one again or the Holley Dominator ECU. The dominator is a nice ECU but I'm not really sure the $1k premium over the GMPP unit is worth it for a 'simple' engine like this one. So far the biggest benefit I can see is that it is not as bulky as the GMPP unit.

It's a standard-ish Katech crate engine with a GMPP intake manifold, does that count, lol

Under what situations would you consider the dominator to be the clear winner? Boosting application? Massive heads/cam? The thing that draws me to it is it's more compact (i.e., not as bulky) but I just don't know if that's worth the premium or not.

The Holley unit is a lot more adjustable and customizable than a factory unit. S for boosted or major work being done to an engine it will be able to better take advantage of them.

What Does Katech recommend you use?
