How much R134a for initial fill?

I evacuated the system tonight and it's holding a vacuum, so no leaks! I'm going to charge it tomorrow but I have no idea how much R134 to buy.

I just went for it and bout a 12 pack of 12oz cans and around 36oz (3 cans) seems to be a sweet spot, blowing frosty cool air.

I am probably to late, but you should add compressor oil first. It does come in different weights like engine oil, should check with compressor supplier for weight and amount needed. Not many place sell the compressor oil, but I got mine from Farm & Fleet.

If you did not get the oil in you will have to go to someone that can recycle it to remove then add the oil.

The compressor from Vintage Air has a tag on it that says 'DO NOT ADD OIL! COMPRESSOR COMES PRE-FILLED WITH OIL'
