how old were you when you got your first GT40?

Had my first (and only) ride in a real GT40 (ex Ford France Le Mans car) when I was 19. The experience stayed with me and I eventually bought a replica 30 years later...

I was 18 in 1965 when a friends father,Karl Richardson,bought brand new 1014. It cost £5500.
We waited at his house in Witham,Essex as he arrived from FAV at Slough with the car.He took me and my brother up and down the then newly opened Witham by-pass at 140 mph which for an 18 year old was something else.
I then purchased 1005 in 1971 ..£4600..and kept it for 4 years. Sold it to Salt Walther for £17,500 and the rest is legend !!
