A batch of NOS original style horn pairs.
I got these out for painting the usual off-white but I noticed a bit of flash rust so decided re-plate the the steel backs of the nautilus and do new gaskets first.
These are pretty rare beasts.

We are on the finishing stretch making a new fibreglass dash for my car.
I got these out to check that the vent orifices were good - NOS original eyeballs.

Are they 2 passenger side Zephyr vents?
Don’t you need 2 driver side vents?

Probably could be ?.
I know there are two different steel shells (the other vent shell is below) but it's the eyeball and housing which counts especially if NOS.
The tabs may be different but this is an easy fix and the illustration in the JWA book shows the rear fixing as a simple ring with two tabs.
Show us yours if you have a different pair.

It's been about twelve years since I got these vents and I remember removing them from some massive alloy casting assemblies when I got them.
This old drawing shows the two vents and my vents are indeed passenger side (73014K26).
The illustration clearly identifies the stud on the tab So it's the same vent with a different tab fixing.

Thanks James, fantastic stuff as always. I managed to get two of the face lift zephyr vents, i wasn't sure which ones to used. I need to update my build diary. I will tell the rest of the story in my thread.

Back in the day I got those vents of mine in Australia from a guy who won several marque shows with his Zephyrs. He did not want to part with them !.
If I couldn't get them and I am less particular now, I would use a similar designed vent from the 2002 Ford Focus - a whole lot cheaper and readily available.

Amazing that you found them in Australia. There is only around 20 MK IV zephyrs here as they were never officially released here. All private imports.
I don't want to drift you excellent build diary any more.

Have you got much left on the "job list" to get the 2 cars completed?

Alistair's car is complete and running but he is installing another 1965 FIA engine in the next couple of weeks.

We stripped all the suspension from my car after painting a long time ago.
The wiring loom is in waiting for my new dash which has taken me many months to get right hopefully, and I have spent the rest of my time fettling ancillary stuff and getting bits plated.

Other than this the current restrictions will keep me away from the car in the big workshop for a while.

The original door seal rubber profile is no longer available and a friend procured a special run of the extrusion copying sections off of an original car in restoration and we are grateful for 60 feet of it.
Now we have a perfect lockdown job hand stitching the rubber to the woven cloth and assembling the two to the steel pinch weld.
