Joe’s AP MK1 Gt40 build

Hello everyone,

its Time to start my build thread as everything is finally in motion after a year of planning.look forward to the build and I’m sure I’ll have many questions along the way. I’m 40 yrs old and been building cars since I’m 16 as a personal hobby only. I have a 65 gto convertible,70 nova SS (prostreet car),73 stingray,94 Supra TT, my recent build was factory five cobra. this Will be my first rear engine car and pretty excited about it.I’m looking forward to this build and chatting with you.

Sounds really good Joe! We’ve covered some of the same ground. I’ve had a 69 Vette, built or helped build a half dozen FFRs, I built a blown BB 70 Nova SS pro/street just before my GT40! Your AP GT sounds like it will be a very nice car!!
 
Is the gt40 specific pulley kit really worth the extra $2800 or can i use a standard after market kit? By no means am I a cheap person but when it dont make sense i have to question it and that just sounds outrageous lol

Are you sure that’s not $280?
i just used the bottom pulley from the Ford Motorsports V-Belt pulley kit - don’t know the part number right off - it might be on my build page. I was set up to use a remote electric waterpump to get away from any bump in the firewall..

i had to do a dbl take aswell but no its 2750 Lol. Just seems extremely expensive for 3 pulleys and s bracket.

Ouch!! There’s got to be a more realistic option out there. Sure, it’s billet, but it’s aluminum not gold.
