Need help locating videos in NTSC format

I found a couple fo good GT40 videos at the www.dukevideo.com web site: Le Mans 1969 - La Ronde Infernale and The Gulf/Wyer GT40s & 917s In Action . Unfortunately, these appear to be available only in PAL format, and therefore incompatable with the NTSC format used in the USA. These two titles are not listed on the Duke Videos USA web site.

Does anyone in the USA have a copy of these in NTSC or know where to get one? Alternatively, does anyone know how to convert PAL VHS to NTSC or, better yet, to DVD?

Having coverted a PAL formated video of about 20 minutes....... There are very few places that will or can convert a video. I found only 1 in the Atlanta metropolitan area, an that was after an exhausting search. The price of it is high ( $40 for 20 minutes ), because the equipment is expensive. Only an advanced studio will have that kind of equipment. Usually one that does TV/video production in the foreign markets of your town or area.

What's your budget for this? This device will do the job, but it's $449... You supply your own PAL VCR.

If you need a VCR that can play a PAL tape and output NTSC,
this one can do it at a reasonable cost (OK, $479 may not be reasonable)

Huh? I guess Atlanta isn't very multicultural... There are like 10 shops around here that will do it (Ottawa is about 10x smaller), I had one do 8mm tape, I think I paid $15. The local Best Buy even has a dual PAL/NTSC VCR.

Mark just look in the yellow pages under Video, if that fails stop by a mom & pop video rental store that caters to foreign video (Indian, Chinese etc...).

I was in Hawaii last year and went on a heli. flight and afterwards was offered a video of the experience. I said no thanks I need a pal copy. Not a problem wait 15 mins and we shall convert to pal NO COST. So it can be done. Regards

I have a VHS copy of this video as well as other great GT40 videos. GT40 History, Reunion at Watkins Glen etc.
Try www.motorsportcollector.com I think that's where I got it from. If you can't find it let me know and I'll find it for you. I know what it's like when you get the GT40 fever and can't get your hands on something.

Paul

Sorry Mark, this is the supplier I purchased it from. www.automobilia.com

Thanks for the replies, guys. My budget for this is marginally above the cost of the tape itself.

Paul, thanks for the link to automobilia.com...they had the Gulf/Wyer tape in NTSC but not the 1969 LeMans win. I guess I'll keep on looking for that one for a while with the option of buying it from Duke Video and having it converted from PAL.

For the 1969 lemans win try Speedvision.com or try to search for it. I remember seeing it aired on Speedvision just a couple of weeks ago. (Legends of Motorsport) If you can't find it let me know and I'll track it down for you.

Paul
