No ERA build logs?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this....I did a search and an advanced search in the build log section and couldn't find any ERA information.

Do we really have no ERA build logs?

Anyone know something I don't?

TIA in advance for whatever help you can provide (and Ron, if I screwed up by NOT putting this in the build log subforum, please move it :shy: ).

Cheers from Doug!!

Hey Doug,

When I started looking at GT40 replicas in 1998/1999 there were not many choices. I discovered ERA, GTD (was going defunct at the time or had just done so), and Tornado. At that time ERA had a waiting list because it was popularly mentioned that they only produced two to four GTs per year. From reading on this forum over the years I got the impression that was still the case, very low production numbers.

If they only produce an extremely small number of cars then it stands to reason you won't see as many of them. And, that only gets exasperated over time as the other companies continue to turn out many multiples of the ERA production number.

But, I think we do have an ERA build log somewhere. The search is horrible though (must fix) so it isn't surprising that it didn't pop up there.

I have been perplexed by this as well. There is not much mention of ERA GT40 replicas here, even though they have been in business a long time and have made several dozen of them, I should imagine, by now, perhaps more. Bob Putnam, who I think is one of the ERA principles, posts on this site from time to time.

I am just finishing up on ERA 2087. It is a magnificent car. If there is some interest I will gather up some photos and post them.

Well here goes my attempt at documenting my Era build. The first photos show the fabrication of the tub. It is a semi-monocoque design made from all 12-20 stainless steel. New England 2007 064.jpg

How long have you been working on the GT. Did you selected your paint combination. Have fun with it. I have not been in NB in a year and I have not seen my car since SAAC 2009

I have been working on it for about 1 1/2 years. It is grey with a red stripe. I am gathering more photos to post. It is almost on the ground. Wheels and exhaust and it will be done.

Are you building your own mono chassis or building an ERA car? It looks like you are fabbing up your own chassis. You should create a Build Log in any event.

That is the ERA stainless tub. Most folks have ERA powdercoat the tub and then have them build it to a certain point (IE: roller or turnkey). Relatively few are built up from the basic kit.

This is definately a ERA tub. I did not mean to imply that I built the tub. I merely posted some photos of its construction so you could see how it was made. After the tub was made it was powder coated and the body set on it. I chose to do the rest of the build myself. I think I am going to start a new build log, this title is misleading
