I'm french, and I often come to this forum, because of the GT, but also because I find the paddock area really instructive, about your (US and UK citizens) thoughts about almost everything. I've learned english at school but almost nothing about your both cultures... All I know is what is shown on tv news, movies...
Well that said, I oftenly read posts about Obama's policy.
It's clear that most of you who are participating are not big fans. And I do not always understand why.
I might be conside"red by some of you as a "too much lefted heart guy" but, concerning Israelly Vs Palestinians "war", how much do you think this situation has an influence about your lives?
I think I'm far from getting all the answers, but Israel is the only "occidentalised" country of this area. Israel gets the bomb. Israel is then keeping a fragile equilibrium between occident and most of the arabics countries.
IF the situation Israel Vs Palestine is getting worst and worst, it could drive the area to a nightmare, don't you think?
Iran is not that far, and will probably get the bomb in a very near future.
And IF Obama's annoucement was just a political way to tell Israel: "Well, it's time to stop now, before the point of no return, we could stop our help"
Europe is the first money giver to Palestine, and it piss me off also, as I pay a lot of taxes, and that my money is used for that. But there must be a reason, and a good one...
I'm not antisemithic nor anti arabic, I don't care about religions and so on. But, Israel as stated before has the power to erase palestine, falrly easily. For me, that's a fact that Tsaal regularly makes civils death (as Hamaas does with theur rockets). This situation will be endless, until they will (because, one day, they will have to) recognise palestine as a state.
Do you think that all palestinians are terrorists, and deserve to die?
Do you think that Israel is a paradise?
Every palestinian doesn't belong to the hamaas. Nor every Islraely is a child killer.
This "war" has not only religious origins, and land domination origins. I think it's far more complex than that.
Where the hamaas find the money, and why do they find some?
It could be discussed for hours and hours...
Just one last thing about GW fans arround: who did engaged your soldiers in Iraq and in Afghanistan, and why (mass destruction weapons, oil, geopolitical ) ?
How much did it costs to USA (and to UK?), in lives and in $?
Is the situation in those countries better now?
Don't make me wrong, I don't want to offense anybody, i'm sad for all your soldiers, and everybody which was in the towers.
All I mean is there is never a simple answer to this questions, and all this problems should be looked really in depth in order for each one to make his own opinion.
