open diff vs. lsd

I am curious if those that use the quaife lsd in the audi 016 box have any increase in gearbox failures? I know from my 4x4 side i run into lots of blown up axles and joints etc. but that is with a diff that spools at the pull of a lever. Still the parts are ALOT beefier than anything that will see use in a gt40. Any experiences??
