Radiator on my Gt40

Gelscoe has the radiator available. You can clearly see the vertical tubes and center divider for the dual pass.

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the radiator's side mounting brackets and the distance of the radiator's water inlet and outlet pipes from the radiator's edge and at what angle they exit the floor?

This is what I found online.

The exact factory‑issued 1966 GT40 radiator drawings are not publicly released, but the closest verified data comes from Serck (the original supplier) and period‑correct Mk I/Mk II measurements shared by restorers. The best‑documented “original‑spec” dimensions match the Serck copper/brass units used on Mk I cars.

Closest Verified “Original‑Spec” Dimensions​

These measurements come from restorers referencing original‑type Serck radiators (Mk I), which are the closest surviving match to 1966 GT40 units:

Radiator Core (Mk I / early Mk II)

  • Core width: ~24.4 in (620 mm)
  • Core height: ~12 in (305 mm)
  • Core thickness: ~2.0 in (50 mm)
  • Rows: 2‑row copper/brass
  • Inlet/Outlet: 35 mm (1.4 in) each

Overall Dimensions

  • Overall width: ~29 in (730 mm)
  • Overall height: ~12.6 in (320 mm)
  • Overall thickness: ~2.2 in (55 mm)
These numbers match the closest reproduction of the original Serck radiator, which is why restorers use them as the benchmark.

I have the GT40 radiator from Pro Alloy (Thank God I bought that before prices went up) all this talk of dual passes got me checking, Pro Alloy never replied to any of my messages about the topic and their site only says that it is 3 row core.... so I borescoped it.. by the the math of distance from where I entered on both sides at the bottom and counted fins, this either has 3 passes with a bigger section the middle, or 4 equal passes since the fins match side to side from inlet to outlet. Tubes run vertically. Pictures are one fro the right side other is from the left.

There is no welding indications on the outside of the radiator that signifies these dividing walls, which do also have small releifs in them so they do not 100% redirect everything.

If the tubes run horizontally across the face of the radiator, it would be a 3 core SINGLE pass if both the inlet and outlets are on the bottom. But its hard to tell from the pic what way that is facing.

Negative, the Pro Alloy radiator is vertical fins. 3 row core and either 3 pases or 4 passes. Just can't tell since you can only look so far in, but based on the total distance "lenght of the radiator" and the number of fins between inlet/outlet ports to the divider walls, it it was equally spaced sections it would be 4 passes.

I just thought I would share this data for people choosing radiators.
