re: This Weekend & GT40 fever

My friend let me take his GT40 Spyder (ex-Fran Kress car) to get cigarettes for him while he was racing at the Atlanta Historics this past weekend. Twist my arm I say /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ! It was my first ride/drive ever in a GT-40. What a great handling car, the audio part of the ride was awesome (He runs a Supertrapp like setup where you can pull the baffles easily, and they were pulled). Comfort was terrific. Finding 1st gear was a little problematic at first, but got used to it after ten minutes. I want to thank Wayne and Hersh for their time at DVSF as I queried them about their cars. I also want to thank my friend for the experience, as he occasionally checks in here.

After I finish the Kirkham and the 'rod, this may be next on the agenda.

Fran took my business partners wife for a couple laps at Michigan in in this car back in '99. She still gets "hot" thinking about it....

Nothing like a hot 40 ride to impress somebody....

Pete, you do need to get on with your build. One of the first times I took my car out with a friend, we stopped at the bottom of our street and my friend said "someone is trying to talk to you" pointing to a girl that was leaning over and looking into the car. My little window was filled with 2 slices of heaven and all I could think was "I love this car!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
